Bubble waffle Valentines treat box

Bubble waffle Valentines treat box

Who doesn't love a picky box? OK I'm sure not everyone loves them but for those who do, just look at this...  -

Let me start by saying, while you will find our bubble waffle recipe below this is more of an idea for a treat box, for your loved one or ones haha.. kids and adults will love this and if you don't have a bubble waffle machine feel free to use shop bought waffles and pop them in the box instead.

Ingredients

    • 240g Self Raising flour
    • 2 tbsp cornflour
    • 2 tbsp custard powder
    • 200g Golden caster sugar
    • 4 Eggs beaten
    • 100ml Milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Equipment

    • Mixing bowl
    • Spoon / Fork
    • Bubble waffle machine
To Decorate
    • Anything you like -

To Serve

On its own or why not try out one of the following:

    • Ice cream
    • Sprinkles
    • Squirty Cream
    • Broken biscuits
    • Drizzled sauce

Steps

  1. Pop all your ingredients in a bowl and mix until smooth, sieve the flour if you like but there is really no need.

  2. Warm your machine to the desired temperature and lightly spray with oil, I like to use the 1 cal sprays.

  3. Cook until golden brown on each side, usually around 3/5 minutes depending on your machine.

If you want the bubble waffles with more of a crispy texture, replace the golden caster sugar with white caster sugar.

Leave to cool and decorate your box using greaseproof or tissue paper and fill - I used oreos, oreo wafer rolls, chocolate shavings, chocolate hearts, strawberries, buenos, lotus biscuits squirty cream and a selection of dipping sauces.

You can reheat in the microwave for around 1 minute or bake in a preheated oven until warmed through.
